Open letter to Congress and the new administration

President Obama has resisted accountability measures for the last administration in spite of  the rampant trashing of our constitution, FISA laws, lying and spinning this country into a devastating war, and presiding over a global economic crisis the like of which has not been seen since the Great Depression.

His feelings are that we ‘should get it right moving forward’ indicating the perpetrators will not be asked to account for their actions.

“Getting it right moving forward”, seems to me to involve several features:
– The American people will be destined to pay for acts such as these repeatedly with resources that should be used instead, to enhance the well being of the country (read;  my Country, and that of my kids and grandkids!).
– Despite the mandate given to the president in November by voters, The failure  to follow a path of accountability implies a high level of complicity within the highest levels of the Democratic party and implies to me that we may expect generally, business as usual from this administration.

Whatever happened to ‘Change’?

Lying to Congress is an indictable offense.

It serems, however, quite OK to lie to American voters, and is so common in fact that we citizens come to expect it from our government, which speaks to the poor ratings given Congress in recent polls – as little as 9%!   Even Dick Cheney receives higher ratings!

There should be a clamor among Democratic leadership for accountability and, but for a few individuals in Congress, there is not.

I wonder if you would be willing to tell me why.
